Insanity is said to be the act of repeating the same action and expecting a different outcome.

If that is the case then we the Lebanese still in Lebanon deserve an achievement award for mastering it.

Lebanon has always been a complicated creation. Complicated in its inception and even more convoluted in its peacock rules for maintenance.

Granted, as all youth we experimented a bit with ideologies and alliances in the 50s, 60s and 70s and got ourselves a nice protracted civil war memorabilia out of it.

The sad news though is that the civil war ended prematurely. The Lebanese didn’t get clear victors and losers, no lessons learned and we didn’t create a new true national pact to bind us. Instead our leaders did what they were always good at and forged a compromised foreign imposed Frankenstein agreement called the Taef in the early 90s to cut the remaining spoils of war between the same factions that remained standing as they bent the knee to our newly appointed official caretaker Syria.

All under the watchful and caring eyes of the international community that lovingly gave back then Lebanon to Syria to rule and/or manage/plunder for an extra 15 years til their departure in 2005.

Still, under the Syrian era that was approved by the Americans, European and Gulf powers, Lebanon managed to create some stability. It was a costly one mainly based on endless greedy corruption schemes and a ruthless intelligence state that made people disappear, but it did maintain nonetheless a semblance of an actual country.

The same doesn’t hold true anymore in 2020. We don’t even have a semblance of a country.

Bankrupt, beaten, broken and divided, the country and all its population apart from the monstrous political class we voted into power are sitting in the dark literally and figuratively doing nothing, buying more time til the adults in the west, or east, somehow save us.

Inflation, insecurity, unemployment, people leaving, electricity, trash, communication infrastructure, refugees, healthcare .. these are things we don’t worry about fixing.

True the Syrian regime is gone from Lebanon, but we gladly decided to waste another 15 years doing nothing. Each faction ever trying since then to find a new benefactor sugar daddy somewhere, be it the USA, Iran, KSA, Katar, Turkey.. to back them up against the other factions to see who can steal more from government contracts, employments and imports and smuggling etc.. No reforms whatsoever were implemented. We were proud beggars in the international community, we always ask for loans that we pay back with interest by taxing people more while producing absolutely nothing of economic worth and value.

Not only don’t we have a state, a real currency, hope for a future, we also don’t have leaders.

Granted, our leaders will flaunt how big their party and supporter base is, but they don’t apologize for smacking us and our future into a brick wall while they lined their pockets with literal Eldorado riches.

No we are sorry statements, no we take responsibility for this and that, no let us help you out a bit out of this mess with our own ill begotten money.

No need for that, because they know we will blindly vote for them again like cattle in the upcoming elections. It’s all geo politics, you the simple peasants don’t understand the nuances of the hard labor these politicians do daily to polish the shoes of the foreign powers they want to boot lick that allow them to keep stealing. Tho no longer sadly it seems, as the international community told them to go get bent now..

But they will tell us they are protecting us from other sects at least and it will be enough to forgive and forget the endless line of national treason their actions endlessly betrayed them with.

It’s ok if they bled all governments dry, if they allied with foreign states and made us their political, economic and military vassals. It’s ok if they destroyed our youth, got us lodged in regional affairs, stole with their bank cohorts all our savings and killed our parents. That’s totally fine.

In 30 years they totally rewrote our culture, history, everything, so it’s totally normal.

We had a country and culture, now we have or actually are a trash can.

I’m not saying this against the people in power, I’m saying it against all of them, no need to name names, those in power now and those who were in power before many times and can’t wait to get back into power are all the same species of sociopath.

They are a disgrace not only to the human race, but to the entire galaxy.

To be such greedy incompetent sellout gremlins truly is a wonder of creation. Both God and Darwin are speechless.

Lebanon is such a beautiful, beautiful Mediterranean place with a warm people and a rich culture with huge potential. But when you get inbred imbeciles to lead you don’t expect things to stay for long beautiful.

But fortunately you don’t have to worry, we will vote you into power again, because reasons.

The tiny minority who isn’t part of this game and consists of fragments of old and new leftists is in no position to threaten you or dislodge you as they are historically certified useful idiots who can’t agree on anything apart from various forms of wet dreams about anarchy and being manipulated.

There is no threat to your power, let’s be honest you are like fast glue. Divine parasite statues who look like humans but are devoid of morality, empathy and talent.

The entire country can be bled dry, but you will keep your riches and followers.

People love you for your lies, your fake promises, for everything that is horrible about you.

They will vote for you again, for 50$, for a paved road, for a loaf of old bread, for hiring their son, for allowing them to skim money, for the proud religion you both share together.. the list is endless.

We are a corrupt people and we deserve you. There is no culture of patriotism to oppose you.

The only way to get rid of you is to immigrate and forget about you, your bloodline, your words, your smirking dumb greedy faces and most importantly all your cattle followers.

To leave and no longer pay you taxes so you can rip us all over again.

To no longer raise our children here so you can use them and abuse them.

To no longer deposit our money in your banks so you can steal us.

To no longer be threatened by your tiny militias. Your asinine wars. Your delusion of grandeur.

All of you and your followers combined together don’t amount to a small street corner in a big city somewhere else on this planet.

But you are the caped heroes here, incorrigible, adored by your cult following.

The only way to escape you is to leave your circus freakshow playground called Lebanon.

Trying to coexist with you and expecting you one day to become decent reformed human beings who are accountable for their own actions is the pure definition of insanity.

God knows we the wise people made it impossible to replace you.
